The records exist. Connecting them is the slow part.
When a complaint or failed inspection lands, quality asks the same questions. Which lot? Which supplier? Which other units used it? Has this happened before? The answers sit in the ERP, a QMS, inspection sheets and email, stitched together by hand.
- NCRs are written from scratch, with inconsistent defect codes and dispositions
- CAPAs stall because the evidence is spread across systems
- Forward and backward traces depend on manual ERP queries
What we build
NCR drafting
Drafts a nonconformance report from inspection data and operator notes, pre-filled with part, lot, supplier and work order. A quality engineer sets the disposition and approves.
Lot and serial trace
Answers trace questions such as "which serials shipped with components from supplier lot X" from your ERP transaction history.
CAPA evidence assembly
Pulls related NCRs, inspection results and corrective action history into one file, every source linked.
Defect pattern search
Searches past NCRs and CAPAs by symptom, part or supplier, so your team can tell a new issue from a repeat.
How it works
Step 1: Map the record trail
We follow a part through receiving, lot assignment, work orders, inspection and shipment, and find where the trail breaks.
Step 2: Connect read-only
Least-privilege, read-only access to your ERP and quality records. The tool queries records. It doesn't change them.
Step 3: Show the sources
Every draft and trace result lists the records it came from, so an engineer can verify it before relying on it.
Step 4: Approve in your process
Drafts go into your existing NCR and CAPA workflow for sign-off. The tool supports your quality system. It doesn't replace it.
Systems we connect
- NetSuite lot and serial records
- Other manufacturing ERPs, scoped during Discovery
- QMS platforms and quality spreadsheets, scoped during Discovery
- SharePoint and Microsoft 365 for inspection sheets and CAPA files
- QR code and serial lookup for field and service teams
Reference
Related work: our EU Declaration of Conformity generator finds a unit by QR code or serial number and records every document it produces in an audit layer. Trace and quality tools use the same lookup and logging pattern.
Questions quality managers ask
How do we know a trace result is correct?
Every answer lists the ERP transactions and records it was built from, so your team can check them before acting.
Can this help with ISO 9001 audits?
It speeds up audit prep by pulling corrective action history and evidence into one place. Your quality system and your registrar still determine conformance.
